Amazing Gracie – Part 6 of 11

20 Feb

There was one evening of worship that stood out and will never be forgotten, ever!  During a service, Grace called anyone with physical disabilities to come for prayer. This was unusual as she was always very specific regarding a “Word of Knowledge,” which is a specific word from God regarding a present circumstance or person.

My sister, Gini and I watched as what looked to be an elderly woman trying to walk with two canes come slowly down the aisle. She was so terribly afflicted that her entire body was almost bent over at the waist (forming an L even as she walked). As she got closer, we were surprised to learn that SHE was actually a HE that was not very old at all!  Here was a very young man with a terribly hunched over back. The sight was unbelievable as I had never seen anyone actually bent in half and walking! Looking at each other, Gin and I couldn’t even speak.

After he reached the healing line in the front, Grace immediately prayed in the Name of Jesus without even touching the young man. As soon as she began, his body fell backwards into the arms of the attending ushers who lowered him gently to the ground. He looked to be in a state of unconsciousness, but as we learned from our prior services with Father DiOrio, he was only “Resting in the Spirit.” (This is a supernatural state where the power of the Holy Spirit ministers within the person).

The entire service was silent. It was unlike anything we had ever seen or heard before. As he lay there, his body started to crack so loudly it could be heard back at our seats. It was as if his bones were somehow being repaired and realigned.

As we waited and watched, the young man finally looked like he was ready to awaken. He lifted his head and looked around obviously uncertain himself what just took place. Grace started to reach down to help him stand, but as she approached him, he fell back into his resting state. As the young man “Rested in the Spirit” again, Grace continued in prayer saying, “The Lord wasn’t through with him yet.”

As seconds turned into minutes, we waited, listened and prayed. Grace sang softly, then prayed, then sang some more. Her cadence was perfect as it carried the rhythm of the room. It was as if we all were part of this young man’s healing.

Then he stirred again signaling that he may be waking up. Grace stopped praying & moved towards the man. The audience once again went silent. Lifting his head he looked around, but this time much more alert. As Grace leaned over to offer her hand, the man looked directly at Grace and politely declined her outstretched hand. We then expected him to turn and fumble for his well worn canes. That didn’t happen either. Instead he did something that amazed us all. He stood on his own. But it wasn’t the painful, encumbered attempt that you would expect from a man with a terrible spine disorder. No, this was nothing of the sort. This young man almost leapt from the floor and stood perfectly upright!

Limber, free and healed. The audience erupted in a wild roar of enthusiasm and with tears of happiness. When I looked over at Gini, she was standing on her chair clapping as she gazed in amazement. To this day, I have NEVER seen anything like this before in my life!

Grace walked over to the young man, and asked him his name. He told her that his name was Jason and he has had this disorder since he was a little boy. To further add to this beautiful story, that day was his 30th birthday and his wife took him to the service expecting him to be healed. She was overjoyed with thanksgiving giving all the Glory to God.

That evening after the service, we met Jason and his wife in a nearby grocery store. There he was walking and pushing the cart still glowing with God’s power all over him. One year later he returned to Grace’s service with his new baby son. He was still perfectly healed, giving God all of the Glory.

Many miracles and healings occurred at that service and others like it. The blind saw, the disabled walked, the broken hearted and the captive were set free. Jesus always showed up knowing everyone’s needs and providing exactly what they needed.
