The Miracle on the Patio: Part 1 of 6

5 Feb

hillIt was a beautifully clear September day.  My father, husband, sister and brother-in-law had decided to go fishing on the Long Island sound, so I took the kids and went and visited my mom. She and I decided since it was such a nice day we would go outside and enjoy the weather while the boys played out back. I put my 7 month old daughter down for a nap in her crib in the spare bedroom while my two sons, David 5 and Joey 12  ran around outside.

My mom’s home was located in the country in the suburbs of New York. Once you went out her back door there was a concrete patio, and then a huge sloping hill that led to the garden. The big swimming pool was surrounded by acres of wooded area. Mom and I were sitting on the patio drinking coffee and reading our bibles while the boys played on the hill.

The boys were jumping around and rolling down the hill, like boys do. Honey would scold them from time to time concerned that they may hurt themselves if they fell on the concrete patio.  All of a sudden they turned around and started running up the hill.  She started to follow them, taking two steps up the hill, when right before my eyes I saw her lose her balance and fall backwards through the air and land on her back onto the patio with such a mighty force that her body continued to flip as her feet and legs went over her head.

Astonished at what I witnessed all I could do was look in horror as I saw all the change fly out of her pockets and her fingernails started bleeding from the force of the impact. I had never seen an accident of this sort involving an immediate family member.

ambulanceMy mind envisioned ambulances racing towards her home, only before the thought made its way to my mouth somewhere from deep within me surged a gushing – “No”!

I thought to myself, this IS NOT going to happen to her. How DARE you devil.  I “knew” deep within my heart if I spoke the Word of God she would be totally freed right then and there. I didn’t have a  second moment’s thought or a shadow of a doubt.

Dismissing the ambulance scene in my head, my mouth uttered “God sent His Word and healed you and delivered you from all destruction, it is by the stripes of Jesus that you are healed.”

I shouted this as I threw my body over hers and straddled her, with my bible still in my hand continuing with, “Get out, Satan, you ‘re defeated right here and now. Go in Jesus’ Name!”

I continued in that vain with every scripture that I have ever prayed. The words came barreling out of my mouth like a hose filled withbible2 a surge of power.

I remember distinctly saying to myself that ‘I know if I do not give up but continue to speak God’s Word she will not only be healed but get right up.’

In fact, I even vowed to myself  if I had to stay there all day, I would, as I was sure His Word would work for Honey, as it had done daily for us every time we agreed and prayed for other people.

That’s it, I spoke, “I’ll not stop until she arises from this ground healed.”

I still continued to command scripture after scripture of healing verses over and over endlessly, knowing His power was in them.

“God sent His Word and healed you, by His stripes you have been healed, I Am the Lord that healed you!”
