A Little Getaway : Part 5 of 6: A Revelation

13 Nov

Later while we all prayed and thanked God for what He had done for us with our dad on this trip to Rhode Island, mom pictured in her mind a Yale padlock that was opened up.

We remembered a scripture in Acts 16 that talked about two men who were sent to jail for being Christian.  They were falsely accused of disturbing the peace all because they went around proclaiming God’s love and salvation to the people. They were beaten, shackled and thrown in a prison cell which was heavily guarded with no chance of escape. They never once doubted God or what he could do.

They began to sing praises to Him, worshiping and thanking Him knowing He had this situation under control. Then without any warning there was a huge earthquake which resulted in not only the prison doors opening up to set them free, but their shackles falling off as well. We later realized that this picture mom had of this padlock was actually God showing us that when you praise God and thank Him then His blessings are opened up and released. (Acts 16:16-40 Message Bible)

                                                  GIVE HIM THANKS

No matter what is going on in your life, no matter what circumstances you are facing, praise God and give Him thanks.

He tells us in Hebrews 13:6 (Message Bible), “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” and also in Proverbs 3:5-6 (Message Bible) “Trust God from the bottom of your heart, don’t try to figure out everything on your own.” God has you under His wing (Psalm 91:4 NIV). God’s love surrounds you (Psalm 32:10 NIV). He is with you through every situation you are in.

When life gets a little rough and you’re pulling out your hair or at the end of your rope and ready to give up, just stop take a deep breath and praise Him. (Psalm 150 Message Bible) Know that He is in charge and that He is in this circumstance with you, walking right beside you as you go through it. (Psalm 91) He will make your enemies turn around and run the other way. (Psalm 9:3-4 Message Bible)

Just thank God for loving you, protecting you, and for always watching you. Thank Him for having your back and knowing that He is leading the way for you. Know that when you need Him He is there for you taking charge. (Psalm 9:4 Message Bible)

You know how people always say “stop and smell the roses,” well while you’re smelling them thank God for creating them, and thank Him for everything in your life.

When you put your trust in God and thank and praise Him for all that He has done, then wonderful things begin to happen. (Psalm 116:1-8; Psalm 118:1-4 Message Bible)
