A Little Getaway : Part 2 of 6: God – The Ultimate Air Freshener

We have a friend, Grace, who is a famous, singing evangelist. We traveled all over the northeast to pray and support her at her musical healing services. During this time with her, we learned about Praise and Worship while watching God  perform spectacular miracles.

Praise and Worship is honoring God and giving Him all the thanks.  One thing we learned quickly was that when anything went wrong – just praise the Lord!  Why? To put God in charge.

In light of our current “air flow restriction”, we thought that this was a good time to start exercising our belief.

I was still upset with dad’s intolerance. As I sat there steaming (figuratively & literally), I saw Honey turn toward me and silently mouth the words “Praise the Lord.”

I thought, Oh yes, what an idea! This would be a simple heartfelt thank you to the Lord affording Him thanksgiving and praise.

Honey believed God would intervene in this situation and so I did. We had to get the message to Gini, so mom nudged her in the front and motioned to her the same way she did to me. With that, we all started to silently praise the Lord.

After about five minutes into our mini praise session, dad spoke up. “So let’s get some fresh air in here.”

Our mouths dropped open as we all heard these words. We were astonished. Dad was very well known for his stubbornness so his sudden change of heart was overwhelming. Within moments we enjoyed all of the fresh air we needed. Dad even adjusted the air flow for us!

Acts 3:19 speaks of turning around, changing your mind and purpose. Return to God, where sins have been erased, blotted out and wiped clean. That “Times of refreshing recovering from the affects of heat and reviving with ‘fresh air’ may come from the Presence of the Lord!”

As delightful and refreshing as it was to have some air flow throughout the wagon, it paled in comparison knowing that God heard us and answered us. He WAS with us. He WAS our fresh air!
